Water Plant Rehabilitation and Maintenance

PROBLEM

Maintenance is a big part to ensure that any plant can run reliably. Should key equipment fail, this causes a plant breakdown. At a local municipality the operations teams did not have the technical skills and expertise to repair identified faults, rendering four water plants inoperative.

SOLUTION

We conducted an audit on all the water plants to compile a recommendation for equipment and spares to be procured in order to undertake repair work necessary to get the plants up and running again in the shortest possible time. Following the approval, the equipment was procured, installed, and commissioned. A few faulty parts were sent to specialist workshops for precision repairs, and returned to the municipality to be stored as spare parts.

It was recommended that monthly audits be done to prevent future breakdowns.
