Consulting Services and PLC System Integration
ASSESS. MODIFY. MAINTAIN.
Programmable logic controllers, commonly referred to as PLCs, provide the central control layer for many industrial machines and automated processes. A PLC receives signals and process data from field instruments and connected equipment, executes the programmed control logic, and issues commands to motors, pumps, valves, actuators and other plant devices.
Overberg Industrial Control provides PLC consulting, programming and system integration services for new and existing industrial plants. Our engineering scope can extend from the initial process assessment and control-system design through to PLC software development, equipment integration, installation, testing and commissioning.
We are proficient in PLC platforms from Siemens, Schneider Electric, Delta, Emerson, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi Electric, Phoenix Contact and Omron. Platform selection and integration are guided by the plant’s existing infrastructure, process requirements, communication architecture, equipment availability and long-term maintenance needs.
We also assess, modify, maintain and troubleshoot existing PLC systems where production requirements have changed, additional equipment must be integrated or control-system faults are affecting plant performance. This may include PLC program modifications, hardware replacement, communication diagnostics, field-device integration and improvements to control sequences, alarms and operator visibility.
PLC Control for Industrial Processes and Equipment
PLCs are designed for reliable operation in industrial environments and can be used to control individual machines, coordinated production systems and complete process plants.
The PLC cannot be considered in isolation. Effective plant automation depends on the correct interaction between control software, electrical systems, field instrumentation, motor controls, operator interfaces, communications and mechanical equipment.
Typical applications include:
-
Conveyor and materials-handling systems
-
Liquid mixing and dosing systems
-
Pump stations and pump control
-
Dam and reservoir level control
-
Water and wastewater processes
-
Motor and variable speed drive control
-
Tank filling and transfer systems
-
Temperature and pressure control
-
Packaging and production equipment
-
Sequential machine control
-
Alarm and interlock systems
-
Elevators and lifting equipment, subject to applicable specialist and regulatory requirements

Discuss Your PLC or Automation Requirement
Whether the requirement involves a new automated plant, an existing PLC modification, integration of additional equipment or a recurring control-system fault, the first step is to establish the process requirement and current system configuration.
When contacting Overberg Industrial Control, please provide the plant location, PLC manufacturer and model, available software backups or drawings, a description of the required work and any planned production shutdown period.
